​​​Environmental and Energy Conservation Policy​

KASIKORNBANK (KBank), as Thailand’s leading financial conglomerate, is aware of our responsibility as a good citizen, which includes judicious care in the use of resources and energy. Given our adherence to efforts to mitigate the impacts of climate change, we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and to innovate products and services that are environmentally-friendly for businesses and projects via the integration of environmental and energy management practices in all our operations. To optimize sustainability in environmental and energy conservation, KBank has established this Environmental and Energy Conservation Policy as guidance for staff participation, embracing the following concepts:
  1. Adoption of environmental and energy management systems that are consistent with international standards, which shall be incorporated into all our operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  2. Determination of goals and operational plans to reduce the exploitation of resources and energy, and to reduce waste and GHG emissions in a systemic manner.
  3. Implementation of an environmental credit policy that will include environmental risk as one of our credit consideration factors, along with the establishment of specific credit consideration guidelines for certain industries associated with high environmental risk (Specific Sectors) to ensure that every KBank-supported project has appropriate environmental management that complies with applicable laws and standards.
  4. Provision of financial facilities to assist renewable energy projects and energy and environmental conservation projects to encourage environmentally-friendly businesses and to mitigate the impacts of climate change on communities and societies in a sustainable mannerin compliance with KBank’s criteria.
  5. Adherence to environmental and energy conservation efforts as a duty and responsibility of all executives and employees to cooperate in actions in compliance with our established standards, monitor, inspect and report to the Environmental and Energy Management Working Group.
  6. Provision of necessary support – personnel, budget, time, training and participation in recommending comments for environmental and energy development.
  7. Revision to our environmental and energy management structure, goals, operational plans, plus the use of the effective environmental and energy conservation methods that are to be reassessed annually to ensure that they match our commitments, and support innovative moves for sustainable development and continuous improvement of our business.
  8. Organization-wide communications to create common awareness and responsibility towards environmental and energy conservation among all employees.
