Service Details

Procedure of DL/C Issuance
  1. The buyer submits a request to open a DL/C with the required documents
  2. The bank checks the buyer’s credit limit and related documents
  3. The bank issues the DL/C and so advises the seller, so that the seller collects the original DL/C at the bank or asks the buyer to send it to the seller
  4. The buyer receives a copy of the DL/C
Payment procedure under a DL/C
  • The bank receives the presented documents from the domestic seller or the seller’s nominated bank and examines their accuracy and compliance with the terms and conditions of the DL/C
    • If the documents are valid under the terms and conditions of the DL/C, the bank pays the seller according to the DL/C's conditions
    • If the documents are not valid but the buyer nevertheless accepts the discrepancies in the documents, the bank will pay the seller according to the DL/C's conditions

Note :
Once the buyer has made payment or requested a trust receipt, the bank will endorse the DL/C to transfer ownership of goods to the buyer. If the B/E is accepted, the bank will require the buyer to submit the trust receipt form before endorsing the transfer of goods ownership to the buyer. The bank will pay the seller or the seller’s nominated bank at once. With regard to the DL/C's terms, the bank will make the payment when it is due.

Conditions
  • All domestic L/Cs must be in accordance with the revised Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits 2007 (UCP 600) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)
  • The bank only carries out documentation and takes no responsibility for the goods or services referred to in the documents
Fees
  • The fee for domestic L/C issuance is 0.20% of the opened amount per 30-day period. A fraction of 30 days is considered as another full period.
  • The minimum fee is 1,000 baht.
