Frequently Asked Questions

Does Car Protect 3+ cover the insured’s car?

Yes, but the Car Protect 3+ does not provide insurance coverage against flooding.

Does Car Protect 3+ cover damage caused by any theft or fire?

No, the Car Protect 3+ does not cover car damage caused by any theft or fire.

If the insured experiences a burst tire while driving causing the car to roll over, will Car Protect 3+ provide any coverage?

No, it won’t because it is a damage that is not the result of a car collision.

If the car insured by Car Protect 3+ is run into by another car which then drives away, and the car registration number of the other car is unknown, will the company be responsible for damage?

Car Protect 3+ covers the insured car in case of vehicle collision only, and details of the of the other party must be reported, such as the owner’s name, registration number, and make and model of car, in order that the incident to be eligible for coverage. The insured needs to report the matter to the police and have the police call the third party in for initial negotiation. If the police can determine that the third party is at fault, Car Protect 3+ will then come into effect.

Can the insured party separate or move the cars away from the accident?

The company has some suggestions as follows:

Case 1: Move the cars and do not wait for a surveyor if

  • The insured’s car and the third party’s car are both covered by insurance plans and the nature of the incident is obvious regarding which party is at fault, and the at-fault party accepts fault, while both parties have their claim forms (attached to their policies) and both parties are able to fill in their complete information. The documents need to be exchanged between the two parties, and the claim forms exchanged will be used when the parties later contact their respective insurance companies

Remark:

All of the above steps must be completed.

Case 2: Move the cars but wait for a surveyor if

  • The nature of the incident is obvious regarding which party is at fault, if the at-fault party accepts fault
  • And if there is no injury or death

Case 3: The cars should not be moved and the both parties must wait for a surveyor if

  • The nature of the incident is not obvious, neither party accepts fault,
  • And/or there are injuries or death
What documents are required for the claim?

The required documents are as follows:

  • The driver’s license of the person driving when the accident occurred,
  • The car insurance policy and
  • A copy of the car registration
