Coverage Details

Item 1: Loss of life or organs, or permanent total disability: Coverage is for accident occurring while traveling on or while entering or exiting a legally authorized land, air, or sea public conveyance on a scheduled route. The insured must be a paying passenger on said conveyance and the fare must have been paid with a THE PASSION Card, whether directly to the airline, through an agent, or as part of the cost of a package tour.

Item 2: Trip cancellation: Coverage includes expenses due to canceling a trip for designated reasons before the day of travel. Such expenses include advance payments by the insured, in part or in full, as deposits or reservations for unused transportation and accommodations and cancellation penalty fees. Designated reasons for trip cancellation coverage:

  1. The insured’s death or severe injury or sickness with physician certification of inability to travel
  2. Death, severe injury or potentially fatal illness of the insured’s parent, spouse or child, or parent of insured’s spouse
  3. Transport provider cancels the trip due to adverse weather conditions preventing travel
  4. Protest or strike affecting the insured’s travel plans

The Company shall pay compensation based on actual expenses but not in excess of the amount indicated in the table of benefits.

Item 3: Delayed trip: If a trip is delayed for six hours or more from scheduled departure for a designated reason, the Company shall pay compensation based on the actual expenses but not in excess of the amount indicated in the table of benefits, for each six hours. Designated reasons for delayed trip coverage:

  1. Adverse weather conditions
  2. Mechanical failure on the part of transport provider
  3. Protest or strike occurring after the Company agreed to provide coverage

Item 4: Lost or damaged luggage: Coverage for personal luggage lost or damaged due to a designated reason:

  1. Fault on the part of transport provider or hotel
  2. Theft or any violent incident
  3. Theft with signs of break in within the insured’s locked room

The Company shall be responsible for compensation not in excess of the amount indicated in the table of benefits.

Item 5: Delayed luggage: The insurance covers actual and necessary expenses for purchase of urgently needed apparel, in case, due to the fault of the transport provider, the insured’s luggage arrives more than six hours after the insured arrives at the destination. No compensation shall be made by the Company under this item if insured has been compensated for the delayed luggage under coverage for lost or damaged luggage.
