Naresuan University has unveiled a cooperative effort with KBank in the NU MORE+ project – a roadmap for the enhancement of students’ potential with digital technology. The initiative will create a new type of learning experience for students, lecturers and other personnel in the campus, while also helping SME entrepreneurs in the surrounding communities to stay relevant in the fast-paced digital world, thus elevating their potential in developing their communities and the nation, alike.
Honorary Prof. Dr. Kanchana Ngourungsi, President of Naresuan University, said, “Naresuan University is committed to producing capable graduates to serve the country and strengthening the communities and the society to make them self-reliant with regard to socio-economic aspects, natural resource and the environment. The effort is in line with the mission statement: "Naresuan University is the university for the people". The “NU MORE+” project is one of the important initiatives to develop qualified graduates who can catch up with the digital society in the present world and in the future. Naresuan University has followed the participatory approach guideline and our collaboration with KBank will tremendously contribute to the university’s operation. Naresuan University can bring knowledge from digital solution experts to support the development of technological innovation and creation of innovation center, as well as to promote the sharing of knowledge and experience with communities in Phitsanulok.”

The project will enable them to adapt to changing global trends so that they are equipped to develop their business and communities in Phitsanulok in a sustainable manner. Focusing on proper integration of technology, lifestyle and learning experience, the cooperation features application development to facilitate education and online financial transactions, the creation of study area, namely, co-learning space, and support for online learning platform. Additionally, essential knowledge related to SME business operation will be shared with students and people in the communities. KBank believes that the cooperation with Naresuan University, which serves as the host institution in this region, will encourage students and communities to learn and gain better understanding about technology so that they can create new innovation and participate in an effort to guide the country forward.
Honorary Prof. Dr. Kanchana added that “this cooperation will open an opportunity for Naresuan University and KBank to work together for the development of creative economy via knowledge enhancement to pave the way for Naresuan University to become an innovation hub. In this way, Naresuan University will be able to nurture our students to become new entrepreneurs, who are capable of using knowledge to create innovations that meet the needs of entrepreneurs residing in the lower part of the northern region, so that they can increase economic value and strengthen local communities.
The “NU MORE+” project is ready to offer services that will create new experiences for Naresuan University’s students during the 2019 academic year, as follows:
- Newly designed student ID card is aimed at offering convenience for students to enter buildings, use education services within the campus and financial services everywhere.
- NU MORE+ application, which is linked with the student ID card, is intended to make the campus life easier as it facilitates students to use education services, register courses, obtain news & information and use transportation & health services. This application is also equipped with an emergency alert system linked with Naresuan University Hospital. Complaints or emergency notifications can be made to the police because NU MORE+ is linked with the Royal Thai Police. Financial services available on NU MORE+ are also linked with K PLUS. This application also features hostel management system and other services.
