If I am interested in selling stock, but lack a trading account, what should I do? You can contact the Shareholder Relationship Management Unit in order that the Bank can coordinate your stock trade through a broker.
I hold KBank stock with a face value of Baht 100 per share. Right now, KBank shares bear a face value of Baht 10 per share. What should I do? You can swap stock certificates having the face value Baht 100 per share for an equivalent amount of the new ones with the face value of Baht 10 per share by contacting the Shareholder Relationship Management Unit, or any KBank branch, which will coordinate with the Registrar. Required documents for the swap include:
- The old stock certificates with the face value of Baht 100 per share
- A copy of the shareholder’s national ID card, with the shareholder’s signature certifying the copy.
How can I check the total number of shares registered in my name? There are two methods for checking the total number of shares in your name:
- If you hold a “scripless” stock-trading account with a securities company, you can check the total number of shares with that company.
- If you hold stock certificates, you can check the total number of registered shares with the Bank’s Registrar, the Thailand Securities Depository Company Limited, Tel. 0 2229 2888.
What should be done if the shareholder has passed away? First of all, the shareholder’s heirs must submit their request to the court to appoint a trustee. Upon the court ruling appointing the trustee, the following documents must be submitted:
- A completed Heir’s Request Form
- A copy of the court ruling appointing the trustee, with certifying signature of the trustee on every page of the copy.
- A copy of the death certificate, with certifying signature of the trustee.
- A copy of the ID card and house registration certificate of the trustee, with certifying signature of the trustee
- A copy of the ID card and house registration certificate of the rightful heir to the stock, with certifying signature of the heir.
- A copy of the ID cards of two witnesses, with certifying signatures of the witnesses.
- Stock certificates with the trustee’s signature in the transferor’s box, and rightful heir signing in the transferee’s signature box.
